10 Reasons the Rest of the World Thinks the US is Nuts → huffingtonpost.com

Brilliant rant on the current state of the right’s discussion on abortion.

I never thought I’d be so discouraged to be a woman in the US.

“Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry said in response to the letter that the state would use its own funds to continue the women’s health-care program and accused the Obama administration of placing its support for abortion rights ahead of women’s health.” —

FUCK THE WHAT?! You don’t get to ban Planned Parenthood in your state and then claim that the federal government isn’t keen on women’s health when they call you out for breaking federal healthcare laws.

Also, I’d like to point out that this wasn’t “an Obama administration decision” as its painted in the right-leaning WSJ article. It’s the inevitable consequence of breaking the funding rules for the Medicaid Women’s Health Program and the decision (which I support fully) was made by the director of Medicaid. See here. So Rick Perry is both a hypocrtical ass and entirely wrong in crying politics.
